Christmas In Colorado

This Christmas brought several firsts for the Shearer family. It was Chloe's first Christmas, our first Christmas in Colorado, the first time we spent Christmas with just our family, and the first time I made Christmas dinner. We enjoyed a relaxing day, watching Chloe open presents, trying to get a good Christmas picture in front of the tree (nearly unsuccessful!), eating soup, and watching the snow fall. We missed being with our families, but we were so thankful for the memories we were able to make together. As we spent time opening gifts, we were reminded of the greatest gift we have ever received, Jesus Christ coming to earth to be our Savior. Without His loving sacrifice, our lives would be meaningless.

"Mom, why is my stocking as big as me?"

We got snowshoes for Christmas. We can't wait to use them!
We will definitely get lots of use out of them here!

This was the Christmas tree pic that we decided was "good enough"!

Let It Snow!

It definitely feels like Christmas here in Colorado! We experienced our first big (well big for us!) snowfall this past weekend. I got to try out my driving skills on the snowy/icy streets for the first time since I was in high school. I'll admit it, I was totally driving like a grandma! BUT, I didn't get in a little fender bender like some other person did, whose name starts with A and who also contributes to this blog!

The reality of the move is starting to set in and we are really missing our family, friends, and comfortable life in California. Here's some pictures of Chloe for those of you that are missing her.

Here's a photo of a snow-crusted tree out our front door:

Looks cold here, doesn't it?

Here's Chloe trying out her jumper for the first time. She doesn't get it yet that she's supposed to JUMP!
