Matt's Pics

Our good friend from college, Matt Floreen and his wife, Rachel, made a stop in the big town of Monument to visit us on their road trip around the US. They are in the final stages of preparations before they head off to Africa to serve the Lord in the country of Malawi. It was so great to catch up with Matt and get to know Rachel a little bit more, too. We are excited to see what God will do through them as they transition to living in a completely different culture. Here is their website if you are interested in following their adventures: http://www.africastories.com

Of course, we couldn't let Matt leave without taking advantage of his photography expertise. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the evening:

Here we are, all of us in one picture!

Thanks so much, Matt and Rachel, for taking the time to visit us! We will be praying for you!

One Month Old

Yesterday marked Macie's one month of life milestone. A month goes by pretty quickly when you're constantly busy feeding, changing diapers, losing sleep, and doing mountains of laundry! Macie loves her milk and is chunking up quite nicely. She is starting to give us those first real smiles (usually after milk time!). She is such a sweet baby and is a huge blessing to our family. Chloe is adjusting well to being a big sister. She loves giving "May-iss" lots of kisses. We are still working on helping Chloe understand the meaning of gentleness. She hasn't quite grasped the concept yet. Macie is learning to be a tough little sister as she takes daily blows to the head and round house kicks to the face all in stride.

Here are some pictures that were taken throughout the last month:

My mom is amazing. When I called her to tell her I was in labor, she changed her ticket and hopped on a plane to Colorado. She arrived at the hospital about 5 hours after Macie was born. She stayed with us for 2 weeks and took great care of us! She was especially helpful in keeping Chloe happy and entertained. Thanks, Mom! We love you and miss you so much!

We got to spend Valentine's Day hanging out with my grandparents from Nebraska. They loved meeting their newest great granddaughter. Even though they've been out of the baby stage for quite a while now, they both still have the magic touch!

Trying to capture a nice picture of the girls since they were all dressed up
for church. Macie didn't cooperate.

I love the "daddy with his girls" pictures!
