Our Fun-Filled Weekend

We had a ton of fun hanging out with our friends, the Millers this past weekend. They invited us to go bowling with their family. Chloe loved the constant attention/entertainment from the Miller children!

I loved watching JT bowl! I think I'll try his sliding technique next time...
Maybe that's what I need to do to improve my score!

I love pink!

Our friend, Mike Butler, who we knew from our church in California, just moved to Denver about 3 weeks ago. He drove down on Sunday afternoon to hang out with us! It was so much fun to catch up with him! Mike, we're so glad you're here!

Chloe loved Mike, especially his hat!

Birthday Funnery

This year, Andrew birthday celebration was spread out over a few days. Since we had our small group on his birthday, we went out for dinner on Friday night instead. We were so full that we decided to save his birthday cake for the next day. So, we had cake and homemade ice cream for lunch!

I wanted to get Andrew a video camera so that we can actually take real movies of Chloe (instead of the 30 sec. clips on our digital camera), but I knew he would probably want to pick it out himself. If you know Andrew well enough, you'll understand what I mean. He'll most likely spend many hours researching, reading product reviews, and comparing prices before he decides on the one he wants to purchase. Once he finally decides, he'll realize that the new model will hit the market in a few months, so he'll wait for that one to come out. It's a pretty intense but necessary process to ensure that we get the perfect camera!

I wanted him to have something to open instead of just telling him that he was getting a camera (how boring is that!), so I got my teacher skills in gear and made my own little camera creation. I was pretty proud of how it turned out. The lens cap was my favorite part!
Here's the video camera replica:

Happy Birthday, Andrew!

Here are some pictures of Andrew as a baby, 28 years ago.
Wasn't he precious?

Andrew, Chloe and I love you so much! We are so thankful that God has given you to us!

Trip to California

Chloe and I spent last week in California! It was so much fun for her to get to see Grandpa and Grandma again! We were up in Turlock for most of the time, but we did get to make a quick one-day trip down to Santa Clarita to see Mike, Julie, and Neil. We also got to surprise my friend, Sarah, at her baby shower. We were able to visit to our church, too. It was a huge blessing and encouragement to see familiar faces and be reminded of how much we're still loved even though we're several hundred miles away.

We tried many times to get a good pic of Chloe and Uncle Mike,
but Uncle Mike couldn't stop blinking!

Joelle, our former roommate, stopped by to see us!

We got to see my friend, Kellie and her son, Levi.

We took a snowboarding trip up to Bear Valley, which is about 2 hours from where my parents live. The snow wasn't all that great, but we basically had the mountain all to ourselves. It was a fun day!

Like my goggles?

My favorite set of triplets!

Grandma and Chloe got to spend some quality time together in the lodge.

Too Funny Not To Post

As I was standing on the kitchen counter trying to get a video of Chloe rolling over without her seeing me, I just barely missed her flip. However, I did managed to capture something else. Listen very closely for a little surprise from Chloe! Make sure you turn up your volume!

She may have mostly Shearer genes, but this video definitely proves she has some Slovek in her, too!

The Guchi's Were Here

Our dear friends, the Kawaguchi's, came to visit us before and after Christmas on their way to and back from Montana. It was so much fun to catch up with them and see how much their kids have grown! They were our first non-family visitors. Thank you Guchi's for coming to see us!

Noah loved the snow!

New Year's in Seattle

We were so blessed to be able to fly up to Washington this last week to visit the Shearer family. It was so much fun to spend time together over yummy breakfasts, puzzles, and shopping! It's not a Shearer family reunion unless it involves multiple outings of serious shopping!
As you can see in the pictures below, Chloe thoroughly enjoyed the non-stop attention from her Auntie and Grandma!

Chloe apparently got the "Coffee Addiction Gene" from Grandpa and Grandma!

Andrew and David spent hours conquering this puzzle!
